11 things to do in the Dominican Republic

If you are in the Dominican Republic, enjoy your vacation to the max!

Do everything to make your Dominican holidays unforgettable.

    1. WATCH THE SUN RISE IN THE ATLANTIC AND SET IN THE CARIBBEAN

And is this possible? - you ask. Yes, in the Dominican Republic - it is possible! The uniqueness of the island's location is due to the fact that its northern coast borders the Atlantic Ocean and the southern coast the Caribbean Sea. If you are vacationing in the resort of Punta Cana, be sure to come at dawn to the ocean –it is quiet and deserted on the beach in these early hours. The sun is slowly rises from behind the ocean, painting the world in soft pink colors.

In the evening, move to the southern coast of the island (resorts of La Romana, Bayahibe, Juan Dolio, Boca Chica, Santo Domingo). Here on the Caribbean coast you can view the most romantic and most beautiful sunset of your life. Do not forget to bring a bottle of wine and invite the right person to share this pleasure with you.

    2. TRAVELING BY MOTOKONCHO

Motokoncho is a shortened version of the "moto con chofer" (literally, you can translate it as a "motor with a chauffeur"). This is the most common and affordable type of a taxi in the Dominican Republic. A smiling driver for just a couple of dollars will take you like the wind to your destination. And if you are traveling with friends - you and the whole company can climb onto a motorcycle - it will be very Dominican because most of the locals get around that way.

    3. SEE HUMPBACK WHALES IN THEIR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

Humpback whales are amazing and intelligent mammals. Watching them in their natural setting is an incomparable experience. Just imagine a huge whale as big as your boat floating at arm's length! It seems just a little more and you could touch the sea giant. But most amazing are the mating games of large humpback whales during which the multi-toned males leap out of the water and with all their might slap the surface of the ocean with their fins. In the Dominican Republic, you can see all this with your own eyes.

    4. EAT SALTED BANANA CHIPS

At first, it sounds insane but the trick is that not all Dominican bananas are the same. In addition to sweet fruit bananas, large "potato" or "vegetable" bananas are grown here which can be fried, baked, made into porridge or real salty chips. They are very tasty and we recommend them.

    5. SWINGING ON THE SWINGS ON REDONDA MOUNTAIN

Not far from the northeastern coast of the Atlantic lies Mount Redond or Round Mountain. At its top there are hammocks and swings from which you can endlessly enjoy the surrounding scenery: the twisted coast of the ocean, the relief ridges of the mountains, the roads drowning in lush tropical greenery, the soaring eagles and you, swinging on swings over the abyss.

    6. ASCEND THE MOUNTAIN ISABEL DE TORRES ON A FUNICULAR

Mount Isabel de Torres is located near the resort town of Puerto Plata which is on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. The only funicular in the country will lift all comers to the top of the mountain. The length of the cable road is 3000 yards and the speed of the cable car is 8 yards per second which makes it possible to get a good view of the surroundings and simply turn your face to a warm wind from the open window of the colorful cabin.

On the top of Mount Isabel de Torres you will find an observation deck, a statue of Jesus - a small copy of the statue of Rio De Janeiro as well as a mysterious rainforest and stunning views of the northern coast of the Dominican Republic

    7. TAKE A PICTURE WITH A STAR

Who at least once did not dream of taking a picture with a star? But it's not about the stars of show business, but about the most amazing inhabitants of the Caribbean Sea - the sea starsAll the participants of the tour to Saona will have a great opportunity to take a photo to remind you of this Caribbean beauty.

On the way to the Paradise Island, the boats make a stop at the Blue Lagoon, at the bottom of which the starfish live. Remember that these are living creatures, and you should treat them carefully by taking them out of the water for no more than 5 seconds. This is enough time to take a couple of photos.
